What teams need in 07'
By NBarnett 1/17/2007
AFC West
Denver Broncos:
DE - Courtney Brown still can't stay healthy and Elvis Dumervil is really only just a situational pass rusher. They need more stability on the Dline and it starts upfront.
DT - Gerard Warren and Michael Myers are average at best and they could really use a stud DT upfront to get pressure.
S - Who knows how long John Lynch will play and Domonique Foxworth is likely going to be the #2 CB next year. Safety is a big need because of the lack of depth.
Kansas City Chiefs:
DT - Former 6th overall bust Ryan Sims is expected to be released so the Chiefs should be looking for a DT and at the least, depth at the position.
WR - Every year people predict the Chiefs to take a WR in the draft and every year they seemingly pass on someone. With Trent Green nearing the end, they need to start getting some weapons for whomever takes over.
QB - With Trent Green injured much of the season, Damon Huard stepped in and earned himself some money in free agency. Still, the Chiefs need to find a younger QB that will eventually take the reins.
Oakland Raiders:
QB - Aaron Brooks didn't work out and Andrew Walter didn't do much better in his place. The Raiders need a franchise QB and its about they draft one and do so with the 1st overall pick.
OT - Well Robert Gallery is officially a bust. What was the "safest" pick in the draft turned into a huge liability on the Raiders Oline. If they take a QB 1st overall, they better draft at least 2 Olineman to help protect him.
TE - A young QBs best friend. A blocking or receiving TE would both help out the Raiders porus offense by leaps and bounds.
San Diego Chargers:
LB - The Chargers will likely be looking for an inside LB this offseason and at the very least, to add depth to the position.
WR - Philip Rivers have a very good first season as a starter but you can never have too many weapons around a QB.
S - Marlon McCree and Terrence Kiel are replacable while Clinton Hart has some promise. They really need a leader in the secondary to go with their talented front 7.
