FB Draft Prospects

1) Brian Leonard, 6'1" 235 lbs, Rutgers
A very versitle athlete, Leonard has the size and speed to make a good impact for his team when he gets to the NFL. He can carry the ball, catch out of the backfield, and be an effective blocker. A RB for most of his career, Leonard needs to work on becoming a better overall blocker. A talented athlete who should hear his name called early on day 1.

2) Jason Snelling, 5'11" 233 lbs, Virginia
Snelling shows descent speed and the willingness to hit someone on the field. He will need to bulk up a bit to make it on the NFL level though. He is a good runner on short yardage and an underrated receiver out of the backfield.

3) *Owen Schmitt , 6'1" 250 lbs, West Virginia
A hard nosed guy who is a pure FB. Schmitt is a devistating lead blocker who can barrel through the defense. Plays with alot on emotion and intensity. A hard worker and a descent receiver out of the backfield. Schmitt is likely to return for his senior season and be among the best FBs in the nation next season.

4) Deon Anderson, 5'10" 238 lbs, Conneticut
Anderson is a hard hitter who has good instincts. He is a good short yardage guy who has very good hands. A well rounder player who has good speed and the potential to be a starting NFL FB some day. Size and holding his blocks are his 2 only concerns.

5) LeRon McClain , 6'1" 255 lbs, Alabama
A very good lead blocker, McClain is fearsome guy to meet in the hole. He sticks his blocks and drives the defense back. A little below average in the speed department, he is the traditional lead blocking FB who is a solid check down receiver out of the backfield.
