Mock DraftN Barnetts 2007 Mock draft after week 13 in the NFL . Selection: QB Brady Quinn from Notre Dame With the 1st overall selection the Lions will look to the future and Brady Quinn is their man. While alot of Lions fans are soured on the idea of making a QB their top pick, Quinn is NFL ready and has experience running a pro style offense. Other options: WR Calvin Johnson, OT Joe Thomas, DE Gaines Adams The possibility of possibiliy of drafting Calvin Johnson also exists. Roy Williams is an abudding star in the NFL but former 1st round WRs Charles Rogers and Mike Williams have been major disapointments. Mike Williams is even rumored to be on the chopping block like Charles Rogers was last season. Joe Thomas would be an immediate upgrade at tackle as well. Drafting him would allow Jeff Backus to move to right tackle. But when the Lions landed a good prospect in Jonathan Scott last season, tackle might not be a huge need next season. Gaines Adams is a very good pass rushing DE. Undersized but effective, Adams has very good awareness and could provide that pass rushing threat the Lions desperately need. 2) Oakland Raiders (2-10) Selection:WR Calvin Johnson from Georgia Tech With the 2nd overall selection the Raiders take one of the best collegiate WR prospects to come out in a long time. Randy Moss and Jerry Porter want out of Oakland and their production warrents it. Calvin Johnson should make up for more, and then some, for the Raiders drafting Robert Gallery over Larry Fitzgerald. Other options: OT Joe Thomas, OT Sam Baker, RB Adrian Peterson, DT Alan Branch After drafting the disapointing Robert Gallery 2nd overall in 2004, tackle remains one of the Raiders biggest needs. Joe Thomas is very athletic but the Raiders seem to prefer bigger guys on their Oline which fits the mold of Sam Baker. Both guys are worthy of top 10 consideration but would come down to personal preference. I know, the Raiders have Lamont Jordan, right? But Adrian Peterson has everything you look for at RB. The size, speed, and the acceration make him an attractive canidate but injury concerns may scare a few teams off. Alan Branch is a massive DT who can stuff the run and also play DE. He gives it 100% each snap and is very durable. A great option for the eventual replacement of Warren Sapp. 3) Arizona Cardinals (3-9) Selection: OT Joe Thomas from Wisconsin With the 3rd overall selection the Cardinals will look to replace former 2nd overall pick OT Leonard Davis who is an unrestricted free agent after the season. Thomas is an outstanding tackle and an outstanding athlete. A great run blocker for a tackle, Thomas should immediately help keep Matt Leinart protected and open the lanes for Edgerrin James. Other options: RB Adrian Peterson, DE Gaines Adams, CB Leon Hall Edgerrin James was the Cardinals top free agent signing and has been very disapointing thus far. While Peterson is younger and has fresh legs, Oline is main reason why the Cardinal have struggled running the ball so Peterson is mainly an after thought and could be used as trade bait to move down in the draft. Adams would give the Cardinals that pass rushing guy who can get to the QB quickly. It would also take some of the attention of Chike Okeafor and allow him to go one-on-one more often creating better matchups for the defense. Leon Hall is a very solid CB who plays physical man-to-man coverage very well. Drafting Hall would give the Cardinals another physical CB to go with Antrel Rolle. Not a big need but Hall, like Peterson, could be entertained to entice a trade. 4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-9) Selection: CB Leon Hall from Michigan With the 4th overall selection the Buccaneers take a excellent cover 2 CB in Leon Hall. While Hall has the potential to play in any type of defense, the cover 2 fits his skill perfectly. Its really a tough call because the Buccaneers need help in alot of places so I'd look for them to try to trade down as well. Other options: DE Gaines Adams, DT Alan Branch, S LaRon Landry With Simeon Rice likely to be a cut after the season DE is a high priority. If the Buccaneers want to still be known for their defense they migh take Adams. But in reality they are hurting almost everywhere and didn't do a good job managing past drafts. Alan Branch again would be a replacement player. This time for the newly departed Anthony McFarland. While he doesn't get at the QB much, he does take up blockers which in turn helps the LBs. The Buccaneers never found that replacement for John Lynch. Well LaRon Landry could be that guy. Landry would be an immediate upgrade over Jermaine Phillips. 5) Green Bay Packers (4-8) Selection: RB Adrian Peterson from Oklahoma With the 5th overall selection the Packers take their eventual feature RB in Adrian Peterson. Ahman Green is a free agent after the season so the Packers might have to look for RB of the future. Peterson has a combination of speed and power, add that with his quick cutting ability and acceleration makes him a good fit in the zone blocking scheme. Other Options: CB Darrelle Revis, S LaRon Landry, WR Ted Ginn Jr. Both Al Harris and Charles Woodson are nearing the end of their careers and the Packers have little depth behind them. Darrelle Revis has the potential to be a shut down CB in the NFL but is still learning. That potential makes him a nice canidate to learn from 2 of the best. LaRon Landry would be an immediate starter in the secondary and be that playmaker the Packers lost when they cut Darren Sharper. Ted Ginn Jr. fills a need at WR and as a return man. Not as polished as a WR but he has that homerun capability whenever he touches the ball. 6) Cleveland Browns (4-8) Selection: DT Alan Branch from Michigan With the 6th overall selection the Browns look to build up their 3-4 defense. After filling out their LB core last season with Kemerion Wimbley, the Brown add a much needed NT to replace the ageless Ted Washington.. Other options: OT Sam Baker, CB Darrelle Revis, WR Ted Ginn Jr. When the Browns lost center LeCharles Bentley their entire Oline struggled. When they get him back next season they could potentially add a great tackle in Sam Baker. Protecting their young QB should be top priority and Baker would help in cutting down the sacks allowed. Darrelle Revis would come in and contribute right away, more likely for the left CB spot. The Browns are weak at CB which is why they are at the bottom in INTs. Ted Ginn Jr. gives the Browns that much needed compliment to Braylon Edwards. Ginn would be lethal in the slot if Joe Jurevicius remained the #2 and Charlie Frye would have a well rounded passing attack to lead. 7) Washington Redskins (4-8) Selection: DE Gaines Adams from Clemson With the 7th overall selection the Redskins get a much needed pass rusher in Gaines Adams. The Redskins struggle at getting to the QB and need to replace aging veteran Phillip Daniels. Adams makes the most sense and is the biggest need, but wether the Redskins keep this pick remains up in the air. Other options: CB Darrelle Revis, OT Sam Baker, DE LaMarr Woodley Shawn Springs is getting older and becoming a injury liability. Even if he plays a few more years the depth at CB is fairly weak so Revis would be a nice guy to develop as the nickleback. Not a huge need but Sam Baker is good value and could be the eventual replacement for Chris Samuels or Jon Jansen. LaMarr Woodley is a bigger DE who has a more all around consistant game. He could be an option because many view Gaines Adams as a potential 3-4 LB. 8) Houston Texans (4-8) Selection: CB Darrelle Revis from Pittsburgh With the 8th overall selection the Texans add Darrelle Revis which fills a big hole in their secondary. Teamed up with Revis would be Dunta Robinson which would be one of the NFLs best young CB duos. Other options: S LaRon Landry, OT Joe Staley, WR Ted Ginn Jr. The big need is at safety for the Texans. Landry is a guy who could potentially jump up peoples charts come April just like Jason Allen and Donte Whitner did. I know what your thinking, why not Sam Baker? Well thats becase the Texans run the zone blocking scheme which Joe Staley suits ideally. A good run blocker who has the speed to pull and get upfield. Ted Ginn Jr is mearly a future pick here. The real problems for the Texans are the Oline and secondary. Ginn makes though because of his potential and really gives the Texans that key 3rd WR to go to. 9) Minnesota Vikings (5-7) Selection: WR Ted Ginn Jr from Ohio State With the 9th overall selection the Vikings will look to build upon their WR core. With Troy Williamson falling out of favor, Ginn could emerge as a starting canidate from the start. He's an explosive WR who could give a boost to the return game. Other options: CB Daymeion Hughes, WR Dwayne Jarrett, RB Marshawn Lynch Fred Smoot is nearing the doghouse and Hughes has that play making ability in the secondary. This is one guy to look for come April. Jarrett would also be a great option if they deciede to pass on Ginn. But Ginn's ability to be that homerun hitter whenever he touches the ball makes him too tempting to pass up. Marshawn Lynch may be an option but the way Chester Taylor has played really makes Lynch an after thought. Both guys have fresh legs but Lynch is younger and is a better receiver out of the backfield. 10) Miami Dolphins (5-7) Selection: OT Sam Baker from USC With the 10th overall selection the Dolphins make a no brainer decision here. Baker is still learning but he translates into a franchise left tackle. Adding Baker should protect either Harrington or Culpepper with also opening up some lanes for Ronnie Brown. Other options: DE LaMarr Woodley, OG Justin Blalock, LB Patrick Willis Woodley is probably better suited to play DE but could potentially play OLB. In the mold of Jason Taylor, Woodley could end up being that guy opposite Taylor when they play the 4-3 or he could rush the passer from the OLB position when they play the 3-4. Justin Blalock would be just as good of an option as Sam Baker. Both guys would be immediate starters and help the team with much needed pass protection. Willis could be the eventual successor to Zach Thomas. If the Dolphins deciede to play the 3-4 more often he might be the better choice. Really underrated guy who has flown under the radar for awhile now. 11) Buffalo Bills (5-7) Selection: LB Paul Posluszny from Penn State With the 11th overall selection the Bills look to build upon their defense. Takeo Spikes is getting yearly now and their LB core is starting to age. The Bills already have a good weak side LB in Angelo Crowell and Posluszny's strength is probably playing the strong side LB. Other options: CB Daymeion Hughes, OG Justin Blalock, LB Patrick Willis With Nate Clements set to hit free agency, Hughes might be an option. The Bills have done a good job of keeping their strong defense so I'd have to assume they will in this draft as well. Blalock would add to what is really an average Oline. Losmon fumbles alot so protecting him should be a major priority. Willis is again just to replace their aging LB core. London Fletcher has racked up over 1000+ tackles for his career now so it should be starting to take a toll on his body. 12) San Francisco 49ers (5-7) Selection: DE LaMarr Woodley from Michigan With the 12th overall selection the 49ers add 3-4 DE. Woodley would be the eventual successor to Bryant Young and most likely start opposite him for the time being. Other options: S LaRon Landry, OLB Quentin Moses, CB Daymeion Hughes The 49ers have had issues with their safeties all year long. They finally replaced Tony Parrish and the problems have started to go away. This secondary has no real playmaker at safety and Landry would fit that need. Drafting Manny Lawson last year really eliminates the need to take another pass rusher like Quentin Moses. But don't rule it out. Having 2 of these guys makes for a great LB core. Walt Harris is playing great and Shawntae Spencer is a star player waiting to happen. After thoese 2 guys there really isn't anyone. Sammy Davis, acquired in a trade with San Diego, is targeted every time he gets on the field. Hughes will definetly be looked at here. 13) St. Louis Rams (5-7) Selection: S LaRon Landry from LSU With the 13th overall selection the Rams add a great playmaker to their secondary. After adding Tye Hill in the 1st round last season the Rams add another piece to that rebuilt defense. Landry chould take Corey Chavous's job in a year. Other options: DT Frank Okam, S Michael Griffin, CB Daymeion Hughes Okam can play either DT or DE and would be a valuable run stopper for the Rams defense. Not a high need but he is good value and in a few years could pay off. Its a toss up between Landry and Griffin. The big difference is that Landry can play any position in the secondary and is probably the bigger difference maker of the 2. Hughes would provide depth and give the Rams one of the best young CB duos in the NFL in few years. They took a CB last season which is why its unlikely they take another one so early again this year. 14) Tennessee Titans (5-7) Selection: OG Justin Blalock from Texas With the 14th overall selection the Titans will look to fortify their Oline with Justin Blalock. Vince Young has the mobility to escape the pocket but most teams who have a scrambling QB want them to look pass 1st and run 2nd. Blalock is a massive guard, who can also play tackle, that will keep Young protected in the pocket. Other options: DE Quentin Moses, DT Frank Okam, LB Buster Davis Moses would give the Titans that 2nd pass rusher to go with Kyle Vanden Bosch. Travis LaBoy is descent but Moses has scary speed and is a difference maker. Okam here would be another great option for the Titans. Albert Haynesworth may not be with the team next season so they may look to Okam to replace him. His ability to play DE also makes him an attractive canidate as well. Buster Davis lacks ideal height but he has the size and speed to make it in the NFL. He can play any of the LB positions and would be more consistant than Peter Sirmon. 15) Pittsburgh Steelers (5-7) Selection: OLB Quentin Moses from Georgia With the 15th overall selection the Steelers find themselves in great position to take a difference maker. Moses has the ideal size and speed to be a great 3-4 LB. He has that quick 1st step which gets him into the backfield where he excels and making tackles for losses. Other options: CB Daymeion Hughes, DE Frank Okam, OT Levi Brown The Steelers need to address the secondary a bit in this draft. Ike Taylor has struggled a bit while Deshea Townsend has been solid. Hughes is a nice prospect who could develop into a star CB in the NFL. He has great hands for a CB which seems to be lacking for most Steelers CBs. Okam could play either DE or DT and might possibly be the eventual replacement to Aaron Smith at DE. The Steelers really have no glaring needs so most of their other options are strickly future picks, which is definetly not a bad problem to have. Levi Brown could be another future picks as he isn't as polished but the potential is definetly there to be an elite left tackle in the NFL. 16) Carolina Panthers (6-6) Selection: LB Buster Davis from Florida State With the 16th overall selection the Panters round out their LB core with Buster Davis. Dan Morgan wants to come back next season and with Buster Davis, the Panthers should have 3 very good and very fast LBs. Davis fits in perfectly at the weak side LB. Other options: S Michael Griffin, LB Patrick Willis, TE Zach Miller Mike Minter won't be around forever and Shaun Williams is really a short term solution. Griffin is a hard hitter who can pile up tackles and make plays in the secondary. Willis might be a good option if the Panthers think that Dan Morgan can't return to form or is too big of an injury risk. He can rack up tackles and be that force in the middle that Morgan used to be. The Panthers don't have a steady TE to rely on and Zach Miller could be that guy they need on offense. He can stretch the field or run those intermediate routes that are left open when Steve Smith goes deep. 17) Atlanta Falcons (6-6) Selection: CB Daymeion Hughes from California With the 17th overall selection the Falcons add an abudding star to their secondary. Jimmy Williams is likely to moved to safety next season, his best position, so that opens the door for a CB like Hughes. 2 lockdown CBs on the same team? DeAngelo Hall and Hughes could give QBs headaches for years. Other options: OT Joe Staley, CB Marcus McCauley, DE Adam Carriker Staley is an ideal tackle for the zone blocking scheme. He has excellent speed to pull and has room to develop yet. Though typically zone blocking players are found later in the draft, more teams are running the scheme so they might start to become a premium. McCauley and Hughes both have potential to be very good NFL CBs. But lately McCauley hasn't been playing well and was even benched for a game. The Falcons will look hard at McCauley because he is much more phyical and has better size. The Falcons have yet to work out a contract extention with Patrick Kerney. Well Carriker might be the solution if something falls though. The same mold as Mario Williams, though not nearly as athletic. 18) Philadelphia Eagles (6-6) Selection: WR Dwyane Jarrett from USC With the 18th overall selection the Eagles take the talented WR Dwyane Jarrett. With Daunte Stallworth set to become a free agent after the season Jarrett is a great option here who gives McNabb a tall target with playmaking ability. Other options: WR Jeff Samardzija , LB Patrick Willis, S Michael Griffin Samardzija would be a great option as well and might be the safer pick talent wise, but with Samardzija set to play baseball and football in 2007 its too risky. Patrick Willis is always around the ball and the Eagles are in need of LBs. A big, fast LB who can play sideline to sideline. Can play any LB position. Michael Lewis is likely gone after the season and Brian Dawkins is getting older. LGriffin would be a great option and would have the opportunity to learn from one of the best in Dawkins. 19) New York Giants (6-6) Selection: RB Marshawn Lynch from California With the 19th overall selection the Giants get their replacement for Tiki Barber. Lynch is an all around solid RB who is the same type of player Barber is. He has the speed and can catch out of the backfield. A no brainer here for the Giants. Other options: LB Patrick Willis, OT Jake Long, OT Levi Brown Besides Antonio Pierce, the Giants lack a real playmaker at LB. Will LaVar Arrington ever come back into form? Possibly, but they definetly need more production from their LBs and Willis would provide that. The media is starting to get on Eli Manning, so are the opposing defenses. Either Long or Brown could come in and play right away. Bob Whitfield is way past the end of his career and the Giants definetly need to address the Oline. 20) New York Jets (7-5) Selection: DE Frank Okam from Texas With the 20th overall selection the Jets land Frank Okam to help with their 3-4 defense. Kimo von Oelhoffen has been disapointing so Okam could challenge for a starting job right away. Okam is also much bigger and could play inside as well. Other options: DE Adam Carriker, CB Marcus McCauley, TE Zach Miller Carriker might be a safer option but Okam is like a lesser Richard Seymour. Both guys are capable of playing DE in the 3-4 but Okam's versitility makes him an attractive canidate. Marcus McCauley could potentially be a #1 CB in the NFL and that potential makes him a canidate for the Jets. Aside from Andre Dyson the Jets CBs haven't gotten the turnovers. Justin Miller is probably better suited as a nickleback plus having him return kicks risks injury to this thin CB core. Zach Miller is a TE who can stretch the field yet is a good blocker. Chris Baker has been playing well though so far this season but Zach Miller is a like a faster Heath Miller. 21) Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5) Selection: OT Jake Long from Michigan With the 21st overall selection the Jaguars add Jack Long to address the Oline. While not a huge need, Long provides great value at this spot and give added to protection to David Garrard. Other options: LB Patrick Willis, DE Adam Carriker, LB H.B. Blades Yes, yes I know that Oline isn't the Jags biggest need but thats why its called a mock draft. In reality the Jags would most likely take Patrick Willis in this spot. Carriker might also get high consideration because as a 4-3 DE he could much better than if he was a 3-4 DE. But again, thats why this is a mock and the projections work out better with Jake Long going here at the moment. 22) Kansas City Chiefs (7-5) Selection: OT Levi Brown from Penn State With the 22nd overall selection the Chiefs get back to their roots with an OT Levi Brown. While not as polished, Brown is a good run blocker who has a nasty streak to him. Another no brainer here as the Chiefs fill that hole that Willie Roaf left behind. Other options: CB Marcus McCauley, WR Jeff Samardzija, TE Zach Miller McCauley would give the Chiefs a nice CB to rely on in the future. He could develop as the nickelback and eventually take over for the aging Ty Law. Every year the Chiefs are projected to draft a WR and every year they seemly pass on one. Well Jeff Samardzija might be the guy that changes that. While it might be a risky move, he would get alot of playing time which might shift him away from baseball. A TE? A TE? Yes I know it seems odd, but Tony Gonzalez is scheduled to become a free agent after the season alont with DE Jared Allen. One of them is likely to be franchised and my bet is its Allen. If Gonzalez walks, Zach Miller could have big shoes to fill. 23) Cincinnati Bengals (7-5) Selection: DE Adam Carriker from Nebraska With the 23rd overall selection the Bengals find themselves the ideal guy at the ideal moment. Justin Smith is set to become a free agent after the season and while he has been productive as a 3-4 DE, he is better suited to play DE in the 4-3. Carriker is a bigger guy who would fit in ideally for the Bengals here. Other options: TE Zach Miller, S Michael Griffin, CB Marcus McCauley The Bengals have 2 TEs who are pretty descent but Miller might be an option here because he has more speed. Dexter Jackson has been a disapointment since signing here in free agency so the Bengals might look to make an upgrade with Griffin. Johnathan Joseph was drafted in the 1st round last year which makes it unlikely they go CB again, but you can never have enough CBs and both Deltha O'Neal and Tory James are getting older and will eventually need to be replaced. 24) Denver Broncos (7-5) Selection: S Michael Griffin from Texas With the 24th overall selection the Broncos should look to upgrade their safety position. John Lynch won't be around forever and injuries have taken their toll on the rest of the safetys. Griffin would get a chance to learn from one of the greats in the game and round out the Broncos talented secondary. Other options: WR Jeff Samardzija, DE Victor Abiamiri, RB Kenny Irons Rod Smith is starting to wear down so Samardzija would be a great addition to team with Javan Walker. Abiamiri is a guy moving up the charts and the Broncos need a DE quite badly. He would be a great option here as well. With a scheme thats RB friendly, Kenny Irons might be the next in line for the Broncos. His ability to catch the ball as well makes him a possibility here, though be it a slight one. 25) New England Patriots from Seattle Seahawks (8-4) Selection: LB Patrick Willis from Ole Miss With the 25th overall selection the Patriots begin to rebuild their LB core. Willis has excellent size and speed and projects nicely to be an inside LB. He's moving up the boards but the Patriots have the ammo thanks to the Seahawks to target him if they so choose. Other options: CB Marcus McCauley, WR Jeff Samardzija, LB H.B. Blades Asante Samuel is scheduled to become a free agent so the Patriots may target a CB in the 1st round with 1 of their 1st round picks. McCauley would be a good addition here. Seems like every mock has the Patriots taking Jeff Samardzija. Hard not to see why. Late in the 1st is a safe value for a guy playing 2 sports and going to a contending team like the Patriots might get his mind of baseball. Blades would be a solid pick here as well. Kind of short to play inside LB but he has the ability to do it if needed. His height is the only real knock against him because this guy is 100% football when he in on the field. 26) Dallas Cowboys (8-4) Selection: OG Ben Grubbs from Auburn With the 26th overall selection the Cowboys get some much needed Oline help. Grubbs has good size and is a technically sound player. With both their starting guards at the end of their peaks, Grubbs would be a great option here for the Cowboys. Other options: DT Justin Harrell, WR Steve Smith, WR Jeff Samardzija Harrell could potentially be the NT the Cowboys will need because Jason Ferguson is really on his last legs. Harrell also has the ability to get penetration and stop plays in the backfield. Smith and Samardzija might be canidates because other than Oline the Cowboys don't really have any glaring needs. Owens and Glenn are in their 30s so they might look to get some younger weapons around Tony Romo. 27) New Orleans Saints (8-4) Selection: CB Marcus McCauley from Fresno State With the 27th overall selection the Saints add a potential lock down CB in Marcus McCauley. If he lands here the Saints should be estatic. McCauley has top 10 potential but is kind of raw. He should add speed to what is a slower CBs core in New Orleans. Other options: CB Fred Bennett, TE Zach Miller, LB H.B. Blades Bennett is a lesser player but might be a safer pick here. Great size and good speed, he should still be a good pro. Miller would give the Saints a steady target who would be a great option to go with Horn and Colston. With a TE this offense could put up scary passing numbers. Blades is a very intense LB who plays every snap until the whistle. Exactally the type of player that Sean Payton needs for the defense. He might very well be the guy here if they deciede to go that route. 28) New England Patriots (9-3) Selection: WR Jeff Samardzija from Notre Dame With the 28th overall selection the Patriots get that WR that they've made due without. The perfect spot to take Smardzija as he could definetly be a #1 WR in the NFL. A consistant threat who should be Brady's #1 target from the start. Other options: CB Fred Bennett, LB H.B. Blades, S Aaron Rouse Fred Bennett is a guy who should rise to the late first round and the Patriots will be looking hard at a CB this year. Bennett is a definite canidate here as it fills a much needed hole. Blades again fills a need. With them already projected to take Patrick Willis, it seems slim that they take Blades here. Though both these guys together would be a force at inside LB. Rodney Harrison is becoming a regular on the injured list so safety is also a priority. Rouse is a big guy who is always around the ball. Might be a good option here if they fill their other needs with their earlier pick. 29) Baltimore Ravens (9-3) Selection: DE Victor Abiamiri from Notre Dame With the 29th overall selection the Ravens take Victor Abiamiri. With Trevor Pryce at the end of his career, the Ravens need a guy who can come in and eventually replace him. Abiamiri has ideal size and would be a great fit. Other options: DT Quinn Pitcock, CB CB Fred Bennett, QB Jordan Palmer After taking the run stopping Haloti Ngata last year, the Ravens might look to upgrade Kelly Gregg. Pitcock is good pass rusher who also can stop the run well. The Ravens have 2 high priced CBs, eventually the cap will catch up with them and they might have to look elsewhere. Bennett might be an option com April. Jordan Palmer, the younger brother of Carson Palmer, could move into the 1st round with a strong combine. With confidence in Kyle Boller pretty low, does Billick put his job on the line and draft another QB in the 1st round? I think its pretty doubtful at this point. 30) Indianapolis Colts (10-2) Selection: CB Fred Bennett from South Carolina With the 30th overall selection the Colts look to build up that defense. Bennett is a guy who could potentially pay off big time for the Colts. The plan looks like former top pick Marlin Jackson will play safety next year, thus opening up a starting CB job. Other options: DT Quinn Pitcock, DT DeMarcus Tyler, LB Earl Everett Pitcock fills a huge need for the Colts in there run defense. He aslo has the ability to be a good pass rusher. Either way, this team needs help at DT to stop teams from running all day on them. Tyler is a big run stopper who eats up the blockers. Doesn't get alot of penetration but does his job effectively. Earl Everett is a good LB with alot of potential. He has great size and sideline to sideline speed. Potential to be the DeMeco Ryans of this years draft. The Colts could plug him in at SLB to round out their LB core. 31) Chicago Bears (10-2) Selection: TE Zach Miller from Arizona State Wither the 31st overall selection the Bears take a dowfield threat at TE with Zach Miller. Desmond Clark has been more of a factor this season but Miller projects to be a more productive player. With Miller, the Bears could run more TE sets and use their power run game to control the clock. Other options: WR Steve Smith, LB Earl Everett, LB H.B. Blades The Bears don't have a whole lot of needs but they could definetly use a player like Steve Smith. The speedy WR has shown potential to be like the Panthers Steve Smith. If the Bears lose Lance Briggs they will definetly need to replace him. Everett has alot of potential and Blades is the type of player that the Bears like on defense. Both guys are capable of making big plays. 32) San Diego Chargers (10-2) Selection: LB H.B. Blades from Pittsburgh With the 32nd overall selection the Chargers look to fill in the gaps at inside LB. Edwards and Godfrey are most likely to be gone after the season so Blades makes perfect sense here. Shorter than you'd like but he plays 100% all the time. Other options: WR Steve Smith, S Aaron Rouse, WR Paul Williams Philip Rivers has played very well in his 1st full season in the NFL and the Chargers might be looking to get him some more weapons. Steve Smith could be an option here as could the tall and very fast Paul Williams. Rouse is a huge safety who could even play some CB if needed. He has playmaking ability and could challenge Terrence Kiel from the start. |
