What teams need in 07'
NBarnett Dec. 26, 2006
Arizona Cardinals:
OT - Lenard Davis is an UFA after the season and the Cardinals have shown little interest in keeping him. They need someone to protect Leinart and open up the run lanes for James.
CB - Antrel Rolle is a very good CB but doesn't get thrown at alot because the other CBs aren't nearly as talented. Add another talented CB and the Cardinals could have a very good tandum at CB.
LB - Karlos Dansby is a very good LB and Gerald Hayes is a descent option. They need a guy who can stuff the run and pile up the tackles.
San Francisco 49ers:
DE - The 49ers want to play the 3-4 defense but they lack the pieces upfront. A big DE or NT would really help the defense.
CB - Sammy Davis is getting picked apart way too much. Walt Harris is playing great but is in his 30s. They have a nice young star in Shawntae Spencer but they really need a new nickleback and depth.
ILB - A big run stopper is needed for the inside of LB core in the 3-4 defense. Jeff Ulbrich has the size but in order to run the defense, they will need another big LB next to him.
Seattle Seahawks:
OG - After losing Steve Hutchinson, the Seahawks have struggled a bit to find a replacement.
S - Ken Hamlin is a free agent and Michael Boulware has regressed this year. Depth is an issue as well in the secondary.
DT - Though the Seahawks lost Marcus Tubbs early on, they never really found a capable replacement which led to run defense to drop in the rankings this year.
St. Louis Rams:
DT - La'Roi Glover is in his final years and Jimmy Kennedy has been a bust. The Rams need a big run stopper to plug the middle.
LB - Will Witherspoon was a good investment and Pisa Tinoisamoa has shown some potential but they lack depth and a consistant tackler other than Witherspoon.
OT/OG - Tackle Todd Steussie is 36 and guard Adam Timmerman is 35. Its time to start replacing the older players and get some youth on the offensive line.
